CRICH
originated in 1870 with a well-known family of bread makers and
then pastry bakers too in the Treviso area. On the 8th October
1988, the 25th anniversary was celebrated of the foundation of
"Industrie Biscotti CRICH S.p.A." and the 100th
anniversary of the CRICH foundation, with local and government
authorities present. Crich has noble historic traditions of
homemade-like biscuits. In 1890 it took on the name of "CRICH",
and it seems that the name comes from a pronunciation error by an
officer of the Hapsburg Empire, who certainly cannot have imagined
that it would have become the brand name of a product which, over
the years, was destined to become famous. In 1903, the first gold
medal award was won for the goodness of CRICH products at the
trade fair held in Cas telfranco
Veneto. Over the following years, the company underwent constant
expansion, only slowed down due to the problems between the two
world wars, and the first industrial set up was constructed in
1931 being further developed in 1948. Back in 1950 the company
already employed more than one hundred people in the area. In the
sixties, after the death of the founder, new life was brought to
the company under the leadership of his children who created a
modern and efficient biscuit factory, producing various other
items until an assortment was created that is now recognised and
appreciated throughout the world. The factories are divided in
three separate and independent divisions for producing Crackers,
Wafers, Dry biscuits Shortbread and Pastries. They are situated on
an area of 50,000 sq.m. of which 30,000 inside, with more than 100
employees. The factories comprise eight automatic continuous ovens
with the most modern machines and equipment, guaranteeing a very
high daily production level. Futuristic equipment and technology
applied to gold rules of the past. |
